Since I now own an 84 parts coupe, I was planning on swapping its transmission into my 82, cable type clutch car as soon as I feel the need for a new clutch. Might there be a difference between the transmission bolt ups between cable and hydr. clutch units? I realise I might have to swap the speedo... but I'd like that "sporty" closer ratio gearbox on my 82, I've driven the 85 a few hundred yards (soon to be backup car...) and it feels *way* quicker. Of course it's going 20% slower at a given rpm (in 5th I think?), so it's fifth is about equal to my fifth. Anyway, -- Huw Powell http://www.thebook.com/human-speakers/audi-main.htm the steering wheel isn't connected to anything, it's just a place to rest your hands
