Miles till empty

I have an 87 Coupe GT and I was wondering if there is a way to adjust
the miles till empty and miles per gallon?? On a fill up I get 315 miles
till I am empty but the computer reports over 500 and is always high
until the tank is almost on empty.. The miles per gallon is also off..
it states about 28 city and 38 highway, I know that when the car was new
it never even got that.. I get about 19 city and 25 highway... If anyone
knows anyway to fix this please mail me..
