I have checked with Blau for mufflers, and after some waiting found that
their muffler systems are ANSA. I have heard many bad stories about ANSA
mufflers including fit and durability. The Brosal muffler (rear with
tailpipe) I got for my 4000S was well made and only cost about $110. I
have bought a Leitritz muffler for my bug, and what a difference! For
those not familiar, the average bug muffler lasts about 3-4 years here in
Ohio. The Leistritz is 6 years old, and has no visible rust. In my case,
the Leistritz cost about 40% more than the Brazilian muffler, but it has
already lasted over twice as long, and was unusually easy to install.
