We've been here before. Bosch lists no 3 wire universal sensor, although we've been getting a non-Bosch one from Worldpac at a pretty good price. Bosch, and VW/Audi are pretty particular about the use of universal sensors, and the 1 wire unit is available under 2 DIFFERENT part numbers, one for cars that have the sensor in the exhaust manifold and one for cars with the sensor downstream in the header pipe or on the converter. I would trust them more than a parts counter guy who, in all likelihood doesn't have the R&D resources available to him to make his suggestions worth the air to carry them out of his mouth. Jason's advice about wheel bearings is sound. However, a bearing supply house is not very likely to carry wheel bearings of the type we use as they are automotive specific bearings, and don't fall within his general area of commerce. The automotive bearings, especially the European ones, he can get are often reboxed units with a significant markup. I recently had to have a Rabbit front wheel bearing late at night: $56.00 at Kragen. $32.00 at the VW dealer, 18.00 at a foreign auto parts store, $12. wholesale from my supplier. So much for their "lowest price, guaranteed". Local, old line American car part stores are getting about double the foreign car parts store prices across the board for bearings like this. You should shop around, maybe even the German car specialty shops will make you the best prices on things like this, they mostly buy from large warehouse distributors, or they should, and get really good deals on fast moving parts like this. Good luck! John
