New-Used S-6 owner's questions & observations

Hi,

I recently acquired a 1995 S-6 and have a couple of
questions regarding some things mentioned in the owner's
manual.

Does anyone have any information regarding the diagnostic
connector?   Was it supplied with the car when new?

Does anyone have any information about using the built in
cellular phone?  The manual on this was not included and I
wanted to determine if it is worthwhile to have it connected
or pull it and put something else in.

I had posed a question to the list a couple of months ago
regarding engine speed vs: road speed and gas mileage.
Being the owner of one of these now, I have a couple of data
points to contribute:

Assuming the tachometer is accurate, 2000 RPM in 5th = 48
MPH, 3000 RPM =72 MPH.  The speed was measured using a
differential GPS receiver.  Observed gas mileage on a trip
to Florida (with several bicycles on a roof rack and the
rest of the car loaded with about a 400 lb payload) was a
consistent 23 MPG at an average speed of 77 MPH.  I expect
that to improve dramatically as my first all city driving
tank has given me 22+ MPG.
