5kcstq drivetrain vibration

Quattro List, 
 
I have a 87 5kcstq w/176K miles on it.  I am getting an annoying vibration 
from the drivetrain at high rpm's in every gear.  I have brand new sp8000's 
and have had the balancing checked (btw, it can't be the tires, I had the 
problem before I got these tires). 
 
My first suspicion is the cv joints or the drive shaft.  Are any of these a 
"usual suspect" with this particular year/model?
