91 200TQ Seat

Forgive stupid question but I need to pull the rear seat back from my 91
200TQ in order to get the parcel shelf out and then replace my rear speaker.
Bentley says that I remove the head rests, easy to do, and then push up the
head rest sockets from inside the trunk.  With those out and the seat squab
out the seat back then comes up and away.
Well, damned if I can find those sockets in the truck.  There seems to be
another panel in the way.
Any advice? BTDT?
