Alas, it seems to be so.  Everything I have read and heard indicates
there will not be a wagon version, and there will be but a handful of
V-8 sedans.  (In a perverse sort of way, the lack of a wagon makes sense
since the A6 V-8 is being aimed at the M5 and comparable Merc, and
neither of them are available in wagon form over here.)  I also keep
hearing mixed messages about whether there will be an S4 Avant for
stateside import, which indeed would be a low blow for wagon lovers.
