In article <11676@isham-research.demon.co.uk>, Phil Payne <quk@isham- research.demon.co.uk> writes >For those who haven't seen their UK Newsletter yet, there's an advert >included for completely stainless exhausts. I've never heard of these >people before: > > http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk > >-- I've noticed them actively trading for quite a number of years as Triumph ** parts specialists. Looks as if they are now branching out and acting as distributors for a general exhaust manufacturer. An alternative if anyone is interested might be a company called JP Exhausts in Macclesfield who supply and fit or supply only stainless exhausts for most makes of cars and vans with a lifetime warranty and have a very good reputation. My '91 100 Avant must need a new centre box soon, having welded a small leak a year ago and the rear can't be far behind, so might ask for some quotes for stainless. (It has a cat. box too which must also be pretty tired by now, but AFAIK this can legally be ditched). On the other hand, to last out for eight years+ is pretty good for the OE exhausts. Anyone had any experience of the (German manufacture) aftermarket ones sold by German and Swedish - although cheaper, if they only last two or three years, might be false economy ? David ** the Triumph car company has a very long history indeed as suppliers to the European nobility, at one time outselling Alfa Romeo on their home territory, as the following quotation proves: All: Live, Brutus! live, live! First Citizen: Bring him with Triumph home unto his house. (W. Shakespeare, 'Julius Ceasar') -- David Boyd Cumbria, UK mailto:david@dboyd.demon.co.uk
