I've got some BTDT on this... cracked both of mine one winter morn when I accidentally triggered the headlight washers while sitting at a stop light. IMHO, it's got nothing to do with Eurolights or DOTs, it's the bulbs you use. I was using 80/100 H4s at the time. Most people who upgrade to Euros also upgrade the wiring and run higher wattage bulbs, so that's why you see this phenomenon more with the Euros. Your warning should be to anyone running higher than standard wattage bulbs. I'm now running standard 55/60 H4s (but I didn't replace the StonGard because I'm lazy). The higher wattage low beams only served to reflect too much light back from signs--I'm perfectly happy with 55W lows. I might try 55/100 sometime, though. I don't really miss the StonGard on the headlights, but it's an absolute _must_ for the fog lights on the CQ. Eric Renneisen '90 CQ 20V - my 'racing-iron' ;^) Chattanooga, TN
