Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Zay Campozano and I just
joined the list. I am the fortunate owner of a 1989 Audi 200 Turbo Quattro (5
speed)) I picked up this month. My other vehicle is a 1989 Porsche 944 NA (I am
also on the Rennlist, which is a Porsche enthusiast list *Hi Glen! Thanks
again for the rear window plug, I still owe you big time*) and since I
absolutely have loved every minute of my Porsche, I figured I would pick up
something within the family. I have always wanted an Audi 200 and I finally own
one. Being that the archives and the website for Audifans is still not 100%, I
am about to ask some questions that many of you are all too familiar with and
have probably been asked a thousand times so please, I beg, bear with me and if
you can answer them I do appreciate it. My questions are as follows:
1. How much should I pay for the repair of a blown head gasket? If the head
gasket is blown, what else should I look for? (I picked this car up from a
friend the car is in great condition with the exception of the head gasket that
2. I have heard a lot of talk about performance chips. I would like to
purchase one for the Audi. Which one is recommended, what should I stay away
from, how much HP can I expect from a chip? Please note that I really do not
want to modify the car too much so a chip and an air filter is probably the only
thing I am going to do with the exception of struts and shocks whenever the car
needs them. Please advise me of what has been the best chip to purchase
according to the list and also the most reliable.
3. Common Problems!!! What things should I look for and address immediately.
