I think that registration as a classic can vary from state to state, and you may want to talk to your insurance provider about coverage. You may find that the limitations for mileage and such might be a bit overrestrictive to you ... I don't know what you plan to do with the car though. If you know that you don't plan to drive the car much in any event, you should be able to get a discount on insurance based on limited use. You should also talk to the carrier about how they determine the value of the car, and if it is significantly lower than you feel it is worth see what you can do about it ... Here in California you can get "Historical Vehicle" plates on a car that is at least 25 years old but manufactured after 1922. I believe that there is a one-time only registration fee of $25 (!), but you are only allowed to drive the car in "historical exhibitions, parades, or historiuc vehicle club activities." I wonder if clubs like SCCA/NASA/etc would even consider this registration valid for participation in their events? Enjoy your new car! Steve Buchholz San Jose, CA (USA)
