We're getting there.
After renewed interest from the mailing list users, we've installed new software and have been migrating old content from the previous incarnation of the Knowledgebase. It was heavily spammed with pornographic material, and had to be removed. There is also a fair bit of new material being added.
Get Ready
- familiarize yourself with the wikitext "markup" language, which is similar in some regards to the markup language used by the previous Wiki software (twiki)
- experiment in the Mediawiki sandbox (anything placed there might be reset immediately- don't use it for editing something, just for experimenting and getting the hang of editing!)
- track down some emails with good juicy information for Knowledgebase articles and clean them up in your favorite text editor.
- Follow along with the wiki mailing list archives and the list of recent changes
Participate
We're looking for people who can spend some time helping out getting the Knowledgebase back up on its feet. See what we need help with; it ranges from "spelling patrol" to conversion of old articles. You need not contribute hours- a minute or two here and there is also useful.
- join the audifans wiki mailing list.
- Ask for an editing account on the mailing list.
- Check out our Wiki conversion tips which we've compiled, aimed mostly at those converting old articles, but also useful for those looking to create new pages.
