[200q20v] Wheel Bearing

When I did my wheel bearings, I removed the entire strut assembly, then
pressed the old ones out and pressed the new ones in. I was working at a
high end pump repair facility that had an incredible machine shop. I used
large sockets (on the order of 1 1/2" to 3" size, can't remember what size
they were) to press the bearings in and out.

In my opinion, you can't do it with a hammer and wood. That press was
pushing hard! I think it was a 100 ton press.

I would drop the struts and bring them to somebody to do it. I've never seen
the tool to do it on the car.

install the bearing on-the-car; otherwise you're likely pulling the strut to
bring it to a machine shop.

again here as it gets much more traffic. I need to replace a front wheel
bearing on my 90q 20v, I have one ordered from Blau and would like to know
if anyone has any tips on the installation. Can I loosen the ball joint
with a pickle fork without destroying the boot? Is it too much aggravation
to try to drive out the old bearing and install the new by hand (ie. the old
hammer and wood method) or should I just take the housing to a garage and
get it done with a press? I also need a new exhaust and was wondering what
the consensus is on the main aftermarket exhausts available (BB TriFlow,
Scorpion and Stebro)?
