Ooooooh, it's been debated a whole lot, on the various lists I've been on
the last couple years. You'll run the gamit from every 3 to 10,000 miles,
0W-30 to 20W-50, synthetic to non-synthetic. My personal BTDT, (not an Audi)
I ran an 86 SAAB 9000 for 14 years and 230,000 miles,(including towing with
it) using 10W30 non-synthetic oil. Never touched the engine or turbo, which
both ran fine when I got rid of it. This turbo had no water cooling either.
My personal opinion after reading all the info, 10W30, unless you are
racing, and change it every 5000 miles. Maybe a little more often in winter.
As always, YMMV.
