I'll chime in with Scott on this event being an opportunity I have had to
miss for far too long. Definitely one of the best tracks I've been on --
especially for a long track (4 miles). If you've got the power, you'd better
have the brakes ;-) If you want to get an idea of what Scott is talking
about, check out the RA homepage, complete with map and cockpit's view video
from what appears to be a cart racer:

I must admit that I have never been so happy to have a dremel after spending
four hours on a Sunday trying to track down a 14 mm x 1.5 Die around town to
repair two messed up wheel studs. Had I not been able to repair these, I
wouldn't have run on the track, though I probably still would have made the
trip. I absolutely had a blast and want to thank all who helped make this
possible, including Dave Hackl who kept on pestering me as we picked up his
'new' 930 Euro and Scott J. for reinforcing the point. Of course, Larry and
Mary deserve praise for putting on such a well run event, as does Mike
Fisher, the Andersons, and all the other 'senior' Quattro instructors and Jim
Blau for his tech inspections.

Considering the number of cars, the rate of attrition was quite low and
thankfully no one got hurt. It seems every time I wanted to take pictures it
was time for another run group. Of course, talking with our fellow
quattrophiles was more interesting anyway.
