front sway bar R&R - any tricks?

I had good luck with having weight on the wheels on both my S4 and 200. You
have to be very careful though, because without the sway bar connected the
wheel/strut assembly is free to move forward or back. Make sure you do it
safely or it could sure ruin your day.

Yes, it makes sense, but it sounds too much like what I've been doing.  It
doesn't give me much hope of an easier way if even Phil Payne describes
using brute force.
