> Ken and Pete,
> It's very important to identify the source of the leak. Tthe "pump to
> rack" hose is often the source of a sudden leak which will appear to be
> coming from either the pump or the rack. This is the hose with the rubber
> sheath. It tends to fail suddenly with a pinhole that will leak a lot of
> fluid quickly. The sheath hides the real source of the leak because the
> fluid runs either up or down and shows up at the hose end. You could cut
> off the sheath to see if this is where the leak is coming from. The sheath
> serves no purpose as far as I can tell.
It's part of the noise supression system built into the hose.
> The last two times I found a puddle of green gold under one of my cars it
> was due to a pin hole in this hose.
