I would check the timing belt - maybe it is slightly loose ? Also the 
crankshaft puley - maybe woodruf key is broken and camshaft position 
"floats". Though you should get "hall  sensor" error first...

More likely the RPM sensor/wiring is faulty (signal has too much noise). 
O-scope should help.
