I remove the wire clip, then use large channel lock pliers between  
the back of the cylinder and the tab on the inboard pad.  That  
retracts the piston all the way into the caliper.  I then pull out  
the inboard pad, pull the back edge of the rotor out, and slide the  
whole thing forward and out off the hub.  It's a little close  
clearance, but never impossible.


And it is even easier if one opens the bleeder valve
