[A4] Wheel/Tire question....

In your case, the largest I'd go is 17". My old A4 came with 17x7.5 RS4-style rims, looked awesome, handled great yet the ride wasn't bad at all. Standard 17" tire size is 225/45-17, that works with 7.5" wide rims nicely. I personally would love to get 18", but then you run higher risks of damaging the rims from pot holes and such, as well as much pricier tires. Actually even for 17" size, tires are quite a bit more expensive than 16".
