[A4] Power Steering Noise

I know this sounds simple, but have you checked the fluid level? With low
levels of steering fluid the pump starts pushing air in, and you get the
noise you are currently hearing. I had a similar problem, turned out the
rack was leaking so I got a new one (under warranty, thank heavens.)

Subject: [A4] Power Steering Noise

Hey guys,

I am hearing a whining noise when I turn the front wheels at slow speed
(parking lot). It's not a belt squeel and I'm afraid that the pump
might be going out. Or even worse, the rack. Any hints/tips for me?
