The fuse relay panel is the central "hub" where almost everything
electrical in the car goes to, so it's not surprising there is
a big spaghetti of wires back there.

It's "AC", based on the ignition pulses.  The fuel pump relay has
a pulse detection circuit in there that will turn off the pump if
the pulses stop.
