While what you are saying certainly makes personal fiscal sense, many on the
list would have trouble with it ethically. Some feel that if you take a
product, modify it and expose it to stresses that have not been tested by
the company, the company should not be responsible if it blows up because
that's not the intent of the warranty. It only makes for more expensive
cars down the line for everyone. I'm not judging here but everyone has
their personal gray area. I, for example, may have exaggerated the amount
of noise my brakes were making at my recent 50k visit knowing that their
threshold for replacing my rotors and pads was low. They did.
