[Es2] An S2 problem

This is pretty much a W.A.G., but I know that some anti-theft devices require you to cycle some accessory to allow the car to start.

For example, you might have to turn the key on, then hit the defroster or something similar before it will start. Perhaps this is what you are facing. You could try activating some of the functions to see if it affects the problem.

If I was hooking up an antitheft thing like that, I would pick something that wasn't visible from an observer, like the wipers, since they could just copy the ritual when they tried to steal the car, with the key.

Speaking of immobilizers, I like this one http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_0059/article.html?popularArticle

Good luck,

Anyone know why an RS-2 engine installed in a 1991 Coupe Quattro.which has the RS-2 ecu, also has an immobilizer that is wired to something in the instrument cluster
of the original cars. The signal received from the instrument cluster trips the immobilizer allowing the car to run. I need to find out how to either bypass this signal or obtain whatever it connects to allowing the car to run! There is a 1995 S-4 chip installed now which makes the car run but the programming does not match the engine and would like to return to using the RS2 chip.

Any ideas?
