Hello, I've got an extra Audi 4000 Quattro that I reluctantly need to part with (I've currently have 5 cars in front of my house and both my wife and neighbors aren't terribly pleased with this situation.) It runs really well, fires up on the first turn of the key every time, idles really smooth, and is the super reliable Audi inline 5 cylinder motor. It's currently drivable, however it will need some attention to the suspension on the front end. It definitely needs the control arm bushings replaced and probably could stand to have most of the front end bushings redone. The tires were in pretty bad shape when I got it, so I had some tires I had sitting in my garage put on it. Two of those are at 95% tread depth and the other two are probably around 75% tread depth. I haven't bothered to look at the odometer since I picked the car up, but I'm pretty sure the mileage is north of 200k. I do have a folder full of receipts to go with it though as the previous owner was pretty meticulous
in keeping track of what was done to it.
These cars tend to be bulletproof. I've put 45,000 miles or so on my 86 4kq and the only maintenance I've had to do to it is replace the pads and rotors on all 4 corners, and I had a new exhaust put on it. It is not uncommon for the motor to make it well over 300,000 miles. The gas mileage is usually in the high 20s, and they run great on cheap gas. The all wheel drive system is rated to 300hp and is near impossible to break. As such, this would be a great candidate for a motor swap for a Audi turbo motor. Or just spend some time on the suspension and have a cheap, reliable and safe driver.
