I just wanted to let anyone thatâs living in southern California know what happened when I took my 1991 Audi 200 Quattro in to replace the slave cylinder. I posted a message here to see if anyone knew of a good Audi mechanic in the area and I got several responses to go to Ingolstadt West, so I did. I just want to point out that I have never posted a complaint online or felt the need to warn people about a shop before but this place is the WORST shop Iâve ever been to. I dropped the car off on Friday May 23rd and was told it would be ready the following day. When I called to check and see if the car was ready they told me the car wasnât running right and they needed to fix some of the wiring which sounded fishy at the time because the car ran perfectly. I asked what it was going to cost and he told me theyâd check it out and call me. They never called me, and when I called the following day to find out what was going on, the secretary told me they were busy and would call me
back. By the end of the day, no one had called. The next day, I called and spoke to the mechanic who told me he had just finished the wiring problems, but it was too late to pick up the car. He then asked if he could take the car home to make sure it was driving well, and I agreed. The next morning, I called (they have actually never called me back) and not only was my car missing, but so was the mechanic who drove it to his home. He hadnât shown up for work, but the manager was going to call me back and explain everything. Well, as you can guess, he never called me back and the shop closed at 1:00 on Saturday, not to re-open until Monday morning. I called Monday morning, and the secretary, not the mechanic or manager, told me that the car was at the mechanicâs house all weekend because the clutch was out and the car needed to be towed back to the shop at MY expense. Itâs now Tuesday, June 3rd, and I still have no car and now the reason is that theyâve ordered the wrong
parts three times. Oh, wait, they claim theyâve been sent the wrong parts three times. I still donât know whatâs going on, but I do know that my bill is over $1000.00, when it should have been $132.00 as originally quoted with one day of labor. Please, stay away from Ingolstadt West- even when I called and actually talked to the techs, they had no idea what a 3B motor was or that my car was a turbo. Feel free to email me and Iâll give more details-I actually tried to keep this short but while my mobile soul is currently being destroyed, I canât help but vent.
