Oil Breather Tube

Color me mad as hell. The Oil Breather hose on our 1990 Audi 100 has a
hole and looks like a rotten banana peel. I told this an dealer only
part so call the local audi dealership. I find out that the original
hose has been replaced with six separate parts going from rubber to a
metal tube. The cost is $90 for all parts.

It obvious that the original rubber design was flawed. But to now ask
customers to pay 4 times the cost of the original part for the
replacement is ridiculous. So here are my questions:

Is this a dealer only part? If not, where is it avaliable?

Has any fashioned a replacement part in lieu of getting the Audi part?
If so, how did you do it?

P.S. Does anyone know the color of the wire for the higher function of
the windshield wipers on this car?
