Yup, that's why I wasn't really complaining... first, no twisted sheet
metal, lacerated flesh or broken bones (not even any back/neck pain),
and second, there really wasn't anything I would have done differently
that would have helped me avoid it (ie, no awful "regrets"), and third,
I have most of the parts I needed to fix it.
What really made it a painless experience on top of that was that the
police officer, the emergency tow truck driver & company, the taxi
driver and the triple A guy the next day were all really cool, and quick
to show up, too.
PS, the AAA guys truck was this neat new model with a rotating flatbed -
it could turn ninety degrees left and right to hook a car! Of course he
was required to spend fifteen minutes showing it to the emergency tow
guy at his yard...
Well, tomorrow when the new strut arrives (thank you Atlantic!) I'll see
how well it rolls with the new/used cv joint, boot, bearing and housing,
ball joint, strut and housing, and maybe strut bearing...
