In anticipation of this thread getting real ugly real fast, might I suggest
that the original poster would not have had a problem if the tag line
promoted a social issue with which he agreed.  The quattro list is a
democracy, albeit an occasionally strident and untidy one.  Social issues
and politics do not have a place on the list, but excising tag lines goes a
little too far.

My vote would be for allowing any tag line that does not contain offensive
language or no tag lines at all.  Ever.  Period.

With all due respect to everyone's political opinion, I find it offensive to

read the tag line on emails to this AUDI list promoting gay marriage. Please

remove this, and find the appropriate format for expressing political ideas.
