That switch is still a switch. Imagine in a couple years when the first
push-buttons Audi will it the 'Fans... 

"I push the Start button, but nothing happens. And the electrical parking
brake sometimes won't disengage, and sometimes engage without notice, so I
cut the cables but the damm MMI keep telling me that the brakes are still
on, and wants to call Audi service to get me a tow truck..."

I think I'll stay on this list, diagnosis will get fun...:-)
