Well, I got my car started and took it to Audi ...
turns out two cylinders are very bad and another is weak.

I had asked a few months ago about the smoke at 65 mph
which should be nothing for an Audi on the highway
(and not having ever had an Audi act that way before) ....
so the previous owner
the Audi tech in Tucson must have know the cylinders were
bad ....

Someone in the shop offered to buy it (it is apart and I would
have had to pay to put it back together) for $1,000 PLUS
pay off my $600 to have it analyzed in the shop.

So I am now without a car again ... it had been below
zero here and my hubby's car (Chevy S10) has no heater.

I just ordered one of those heaters that wires directly
to battery

I have a tool a friend made years ago from a stethoscope
with a diaphram extention that I used to use to listen
to engine chambers ... PACKED AWAY IN STORAGE
with the rest of our belongings ... had I used that
I would not have bought this particular car.
Another one of life's lessons.
