It was used in many Land Rovers for years, as well. I think GM dropped it because it was small (cubic inches-wise, like 215 ci or something like that) and it was the beginning of the cheap, big-inch cast iron V8's, so not much use for a small, light aluminum one that couldn't be bored out very much. It's the V8 of choice for those that want to put a V8 in their MGB. The MG factory did one in the early '70's for a few years, right at the height of the first fuel crisis. Originals are highly sought-after, even in the US. Dennis you are 100% right. In fact this engine (but with a re-designed block) is still being produced by Cosworth in the UK. Apart from Morgan, TVR also still uses this engine. It was also used in the Marcos vehicles (not produced anymore) and they also used to fit those engines to a few more kitcars and UK small production specialist sportscars.
