Good question.  I have been wondering the same.  My MC1 with 034  has an 
034 vortex can with 1/2 dia hose connecting the valve cover and crank  
breather fittings to one side, 1/2 dia to a fitting just after the air filter  and 
a drain down to the block.  I always thought the engine side lines  should 
have some sort of restrictor, but never got any good info on this.   The 
system works as far as I know, but on prolonged real high vacuum I can  smell 
some oil burning.  May not be due to the breather system but my  theory is it 
is pulling oil into the intake.
Car runs great otherwise.  Has as much as 15 psi, now running more  like 8. 
 Full throttle is too much fun and with 15 psi on the street I  would be in 
jail!
