I think the issue is that the newer 'pink/red' coolant has a chemical
reaction with the older stuff that turns it into a hard white compound
that can clog all kinds of stuff in your cooling system.  My car has the
green stuff in it now and I plan on putting in the Audi 'blue' stuff
since that's what I've always used.  It probably isn't much better/worse
than every other phosphate free coolant out there.

If you really need the pink stuff, you can get it from the dealer.  But
I'd caution that you would REALLY want to flush the system good if you
switch to that stuff.

What exactly IS the reason audi moved to that style of coolant over the
blue stuff anyway?
