Apparently, pre-1997 Canadian pennies were 87 or 98% copper and weighed
2.5G, so 182 pennies per pound.

OK... one person to sort out the '82 and earlier pennies... one to melt 'em
down. Still sounds like fun to me...lol.

Pennies have not (at least in Canada) been made with 100% copper in years.
Funny, I JUST took a 5 gallon pail of old copper fittings and scrap pipe to
the recyclers here.
$185 bucks. We only get $2.80 a pound here.
Looks like I will be taking the next load to Buffalo :-)
