It's taken me years to decide to sell my urq. But, I'm ready to pass on this car on to someone that will maintain it and use it. I purchased the car in 1985 with 27.5k miles on the clock. I'm the third owner. The engine was fully rebuilt at 62k miles due to a previous haphazard rebuild job from a Central Oregon Porsche/Audi dealer previous to mu purchase. Contrary to the sales pitch about the engine having been newly rebuilt by the ace dealer mechanic the truth it was thrown together at the dealer after the previous owner had over boosted the engine and put a hole in one of the pistons. So at 62k the engine blow-by was so bad I did a through rebuild. Here's the major work on the engine at the rebuild time: balanced, ceramic coatings on pistons and cylinder head, new rings, bearing, etc. The work was done right and the engine has been trouble free since the rebuild. The car is rust free as it has been garaged the entire time I've owned it. It is not pristine but most people (that don't know about urq's) can believe it is an '83. Urq folks that have seen the car generally say it is the cleanest '83 they've ever seen. The interior is in great shape as is the exterior. It has Koni shocks, lower springs (Abt, according to the dealer jerks but there credibility was gone years ago), 15x8 Ronals (with minor curb rash), a new windshield, new stainless steel mufflers, new brake pads, Cibie lights (with relays) and about 4 inches of parts receipts from 22 years of ownership. I've fixed all the electrical bugs that are endemic to the urq. The car has the infamous Quattro clunk when backing up. The window regulators are slow. The warm-up regulator probably should be replaced. The A/C need recharged (or upgraded to a modern configuration or just removed). I'd love to keep the car but family and other interests have made me realize it is time to sell. I'd like $15,000. Maybe I'm dreaming. Send email if you think I'm nuts or, more importantly, are interested in the car. David Jack Walker Walker Performance Group 6327 SW Hiawatha Ct.
