Finally felt comfortable enough with the way the car's running to brave the traffic monster ... OK, I shifted my work hours a bit. There's no use to driving 4 wheels in rush hour traffic when it isn't raining ... If there's a downside it is that I miss the way the car used to slam you in your seat when the boost hits at WOT ... the higher compression of the MC-2 along with the quick spooling K-24 ... what a blast! You can feel power even before boost hits, and the car was accelerating so quickly that I thought the clutch was slipping. This is all with the MAC-02 and WX CIS in place ... On one of my first runs without "babying" the car I popped the hose off the bottom of the aux air regulator under boost ... I don't know if there was a hose clamp there ... it was gone when I looked anyway! Tonight it got into a mode where it would lose power when manifold got above atmospheric ... thought an injector popped out, but I found that the plug over the air shrouding inlet (yes, I'm going to hook a hose to it) had popped off. Minor inconveniences overall. As far as I can tell the earlier non-start events were due to flooding ... normally the engine fires immediately, even in the "cold" California night. I don't think I've ever seen an Audi turbo fire so quickly when cold ... Now it's time to start on all the other projects ... I'm close to having the MC-2's CIS back on the car ... next I need to understand why the suspension seems to be *so* stiff ... then I need to get the brake mods done. At least these are small enough projects that the car won't be rendered inoperable for long periods again ...
