[urq] 200q20v transmission into UrQn-engelbert at terrans.net n-engelbert at terrans.netTue Sep 4 11:31:40 EDT 2007
The transmission is in the car. I didn't clock the shifter ball on the 20v transmission, though, as I had already removed the arm from the UrQ transmission. This makes 2, 4, and Reverse impossible to get into. While I was in there, I replaced the bushing in the shift rod, and I tried to get to the ones on the dogbone piece, but I had a heck of a time removing them from a sacrificial dogbone piece, so the stock bushings are still in there. The ball on the UrQ shifter ball piece was very sloppy in its cast housing piece, so I stayed with the 200's piece, as the part numbers cast into the part were the same, and I moved the shift rod over. So, the engine goes in sometime later this week or this weekend, and I'll get the shifter aligned then. As a side note, the little ball that the dogbone piece goes onto on the transmission needs to be moved on the 200 transmission for the UrQ linkage to work. There is a threaded hole about 6" forward of the stock 200 point that the ball needs to move to. As for the S6, I love it. Thanks again for checking it out for me before I flew out there for the purchase.
