That might be due to the fact that a car needs to get the power to the road. Too much juice in a front driver would only cause torque steer and smoke. That said, we've had several of these DSG cars. It is, on the one hand a VERY efficient transmission. nothing shifts faster but a F 1 car or GT 2. I certainly can't keep up with it driving a stick, partiularly downshifiting. Great set up,but there are those who just want to feel they are a factor in the driving equation and they don't seem to feel the experience. There is, however, nothing that shifts faster. yeah baby .02 DF ----- Original Message ----- From: "Todd Phenneger" <tquattroguy at yahoo.com> To: "ANTHONY ATTARD" <acattard at yahoo.com>; "urq list" <urq at audifans.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 2:29 PM Subject: Re: [urq] Audi A3 >I have not driven the A3 but I have a comment on DSG. > I have driven two cars with DSG. > TT 3.2 VR6, DSG. > Jetta GLI 2.0t DSG > > Both were great cars and the DSG worked flawlessly in Both with ONE > Exception. > LAUNCH. > > I'm not sure if its the VR6 vs 2.0, or a tuning difference, or likely a > combination of both but in the TT the DSG seemed tuned more aggressively. > It also seemed to have some sort of Launch Control as if you leftFoot > braked > a little and Floored it it would rev up the engine and drop the clutch > which > would Catapult the TT forward with all 4 wheels fighting for grip.
