FYI, the 944 underwent a number of significant changes for what the 944 enthusiasts refer
to as the "1986.5" version. It seems somewhat likely that a) the early version, carried
over from the 924, used something akin to a Golf/Rabbit ball joint, and b) the later 944
didn't. I can't say with certainly, nor can I comment on any possible ur-q application,
but maybe this helps a little.

I recall reading that the early 944's used rabbit
control arms in the front. Around 1986 they went to
an aluminum control arm. We'd have to determine which
year they are talking about - probably the pre-86.
Can a urq balljoint be stuffed into a rabbit control
