[urq] MB brake questionLouis-Alain Richard larichard at plguide.comWed Apr 2 11:05:45 PDT 2008
I know what you mean. If the travel was longer than usual, then it must be a leak somewhere since the fluid is incompressible and the circuit is sealed. If there's no leak, then the MC is faulty and let the fluid pass over its internal seals. When you reach the end of the travel, I don't know exactly why, but the master usually provide some pressure to the calipers, maybe it's inherent of the design, or maybe it's a fail-safe feature. I had this problem on my WX and a replacement MC was the cure. A failing servo would behave differently: pedal would get harder but travel would remain the same, and braking force would still be there. HTH, Louis-Alain -----Message d'origine----- Hi again, thanks for all the input! I'll keep an eye on the MC. One addition to the previous: i never lost the brakes, the pedal was just very heavy to press, and the pedal travel was very long. cheers, Johan Helsinki, Finland -88 MB -----Alkuperäinen viesti----- Johan,
