[urq] Shift Linkage adjustmentLouis-Alain Richard larichard at plguide.comThu Apr 3 13:00:37 PDT 2008
No BTDT, but since you are using the shifter from an urQ, then the little rod must be adjusted to the length that is specified for the urQ (if it is different from the 5ktq): 134mm from eye center to eye center. That rod reproduce the movement of the lever in the cabin. There is also an adjustment of the main rod length. The procedure is explained in the Bentley page 34-12 and 34-13. Do you have one ? If no, I can take a couple of pictures of mine to help you. LAR -----Message d'origine----- I have been trying to get the shifting right on my Ur Q that has a transmissionon from a 5000 turbo quattro. It either seems to want to go into first and not reverse, or in reverse and not first/second. Seems that is would like a wider throw. The only way I can get it to hit all the gears is by leaving the stop plate loose. I had installed new bushings and rod link including main link ball when I did the swap. It may have developed a little slop, but nothing seriously loose. I'm wondering if adjusting the connecting rod (part # 35 on ETKA diagram) either shorter or longer will help - do I shorten or lengthen it? Any BTDT on this. Ben
