Hi Jim, I have opened the pump and it looks nice enough that I'll take the risk and reinstall it. With new bearings, the oil pressure should be good. Anyone knows a vendor for this oil pump 034 115 105A (superseded to 105B)? BTW, a new OEM oil pump is a 432$ affair on this side of the pound... 034EFI sells one for 300$. Louis-Alain > >3- Is the oil pump a device that usually need replacement, as on the >'murican engines ? Is it replaceable in situ with the engine in the car >if I discover later that I should have replaced it now ? I replace them if the engine has done more than 150K miles. Remove the back plate - if it's scored then replace the pump. You _can_ replace the pump with the engine in the car but it's not easy - I'd change it now. Regards, Jim Haseltine
