[urq] Rebuilding Rear urq Brakes QuestionTodd Phenneger tquattroguy at yahoo.comWed Feb 6 11:52:34 PST 2008
Hi, I'm trying to rebuild the brakes on my 1991 Coupe Quattro. I have removed the piston and seals. I have removed the spring for the E-Brake Mechanism and the bolt holding the spring. Now I need to remove the actual E-brake actuating lever. HOW do I do this? Mikes web page shows some contraption with a socket but has no text explaining what you actually do with this? Also not sure what he used 1/2 Hose for. And I"m assuming the circlip WAY down inside has to come out? My Circlip pliers cant even get close to that unit so I'll have to shop around. Anyhow, hoping someone can point me in the write direction from here. Once I remove that Circlip "if needed" then will this free the E-brake Mechanism to pop out. As it is the E-Brake arm is out about 1/2" but wont come all the way out and I don't want to pry it to hard. Thanks Todd 1- 83' ur-q 1- 91' Coupe Quattro
