Unfortunately for me the hose went bad right after I filled up with the
"new" gas ... and it was a real PITA to crawl under the car and replace the
hose ... 

If you only have a small amount of gas in the tank you can plan to drain the
tank before fully removing the hose ...

Can I just remove the grommet where the two hoses go
through the floor to the tank? I see from the FA that
they both are attached by hose clamps and nipples.
