OBD-3 isn't a *real* spec. Last I knew, it was in the "talking" stage and was essentially OBD-2, with the addition of a transponder for wireless hookup (or compliance monitoring). As for OBD-2, you're limited for generic scanning. If you want enhanced capabilities, the OTC Genesis is a worthwhile product ($1500.00 or less). Otherwise, you're looking at a generic scan tool. For $300.00 or so, you can get *some* enhanced GM/Ford data. For VAG products, VAG-COM.
