[urq] Starting ProblemLL - NY larrycleung at gmail.comSun Nov 30 12:45:17 PST 2008
One thing to potentially check out is leaking fuel injectors. Fuel leaks out of the injectors, system looses start up pressure, and long starts ensue. Gets worse the longer the car sits, up to the pont that the system pressure drops to zero. Not only are the hard starts a problem, but the fuel is also leaing into (contaminating) the crankcase oil. A real telltale is if the car smells like gas when you walk up to it (if stored inside). As I recall, CIS injectors should be replaced every 60(!?!?!? some other lister's help here) K miles or so.
