Little correction : you disconnect all the hoses to remove the oil fumes and blowby and fuel vapors from the mixture equation so you a "pure" engine mixture. But you are right : there is no vacuum leaks on your engine if you have stumble with dipstick and dead engine with oil cap removed. I did this, and set the DC to fluctuate around 50%. Then, I re-connected everything...DC stayed where it I set it. Removed dip stick- got the stumble. Removed oil cap--car stalled right away. So, am I tight? According to the manuals I am, just wanted to make sure.
