[urq] Plastic radiator shroud and A/CBrandon Rogers brogers at terrix.comWed Feb 11 08:33:15 PST 2009
I'm not exactly sure which shroud piece you re talking about - but I'm thinking it is the one the extends forward from the rad and curves around to the front (with two cutouts for the aux rad hoses). Yes? Regardless, I have A/C in my car and all shrouds, un modified AFAIK. Lower shroud, upper shroud, side shroud and even the little shroud behind the condenser/in front of the washer bottle. Feel free to shoot me a pic and I can compare it to mine.... One of my goals is to replace the fibrous shroud on the side of the rad with the plastic piece that has been sitting around forever. What I noticed was that the piece appears to be designed to be installed in a car that has no A/C installed. The A/C on my car has been non-op due to a plugged expansion valve, but the hardware remains in place. So ... for those of the rest of you who also have the plastic shroud ... did you install it with the A/C compressor in place, or has the A/C been removed? If there are any of you who left the A/C compressor in place, did you cut using the old piece as a guide, or leeave as much of the plastic in place as you could? TIA! Steve B San Jose, CA (USA) BTW, It seems as though the thermostat on the engine wasn't opening fully, so I hope that replacing the T-stat will get me back into running shape. I will take the advice of Tony and the other "Full of Beans Club" members and swap in a newer rad fan and motor to help keep good airflow through the rad. _______________________________________________ Audifans urq mailing list Send posts to: mailto:urq at audifans.com Manage your list connection: http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/urq Interested in helping make urq26 happen?
